“I believe public service is a noble calling, and I enjoy working to make a positive difference in our great community,” Green said. “My father was a judge, and I grew up seeing the impact his decisions made in people’s lives and in my hometown” of Searcy.

Green was elected to the Division 1 judgeship in 2008. She presides over half of the felony criminal cases in Benton County, and she handles a portion of the civil cases.

She's the administrative judge for the judicial district. The administrative judge serves as the liaison for the judicial district with the chief justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. She's responsible for general administrative and supervisory duties in that role.

Green served as the first elected female prosecutor for Benton County before being elected judge. She served two terms in that capacity. Green said she successfully prosecuted thousands of criminal cases, including several high-profile murder, rape, child abuse and drug cases.

Green also served as Benton County’s civil attorney, where she represented the county and its officials in civil litigation.

Doug Norwood, a Rogers attorney, said Green doesn't take sides and doesn’t try to influence a case.

“That’s all lawyer can ask for is a fair chance at winning,” Norwood said. “She doesn’t rush cases and gives the attorneys time to work out a case.

“I’ve had judges that were difficult to talk with. She's very approachable by both parties to talk with and work through a case,” he said.

Drew Miller, a Rogers attorney, said he’s known Green from when she worked as a deputy prosecutor, county attorney and prosecutor. Miller said he’s been impressed by Green’s work on the bench.

“She’s not a defense or prosecutor’s judge,” he said.

Miller said Green has been fair to all parties. He originally thought Green’s lack of experience on the defense side would be a weakness for her when she took the bench, but that hasn’t been the case, he said.

“She doesn’t have any weaknesses,” Miller said. “I’ve been extremely impressed in that aspect.”

Green received the Athena Leadership Award at the Northwest Arkansas Business Women’s Conference in 2010. She was also recognized in 2007 as the Volunteer of the Year by the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce Drug-Free Task Force.

She has served on the board of the Kendrick Fincher Foundation and the board of the NorthWest Arkansas Community College paralegal program. She served on the operations team with the Cancer Challenge and is a Paul Harris Fellow with the Bentonville-Bella Vista Rotary Club. Green recently was appointed by the Arkansas Supreme Court to the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission.

She served as a special justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court. She has fulfilled appointments by the Supreme Court to multiple terms on the Arkansas Criminal Rules Committee. She has served as a board member on the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory Board. Green is a past president of the Benton County Bar Association.
