It’s About Constitutional Rights

As one who walked in the open-carry celebration in Springdale on Nov. 23, I would like to respond to the letter (Nov. 28) JoAnn Morlan wrote to the editor.

The walk was about so much more than just our rights under constitutional carry. It was about our constitutional rights as a whole. The main thing to remember is that the Constitution not only gives us the right to own guns but it gives the right to bear arms, which means the right to carry.

It is so much more than protection. Read your Constitution and you might understand a little more.

As far as the individual who gave his son a gun at 5 being (guilty of) endangerment of a minor, children who grow up and learn how to use a gun are a lot safer than the one who finds the gun hidden in daddy’s closet and thinks it is a toy.

Miss Morlan and those like her are the reason the liberals have been able to remove God from our schools and our town squares. Your way of thinking has enabled those with no ethics to bring the family value system to its knees and turn our country into a nanny state.

We are God-loving and law-abiding citizens. Need I say more?
