Resident Shows Support Of Veterans Home

I have been a resident of the Fayetteville Veterans Home for four years. During that time, I have received superb treatment. All employees have treated me well. I have lived in comfort during the twilight of my life.

I take exception to your articles (regarding care concerns). I talked with other residents. They agree with me.

A MOCKERY OF SCRIPTURE

It is a mockery of Scripture, and above all Christ, and his propitiatory work on the cross, when liberal clergy teach “If you like your sin, you can keep your it, and I’ll wed you to it.”

It may be an equivocation, but true Christians are the bride of Christ.

NEWSPAPER’S AIM OFF

Your editorial stance has demonstrated for years a certain level of disdain for conservative positions. The Dec. 3 opinion piece, “Gun March in Springdale Misses Mark,” is no exception.

I found particularly interesting your position that it is possible to support the Second Amendment and oppose open carry at the sametime, that it is much like supporting the First Amendment and not using profanity openly in church.

There is a distinct difference, Mr. Editor, which you ignore at your own peril: If one wants to use profanity in open church, one can. There is no law against it.

Truth be told, you would oppose any such law.
