Fayetteville trash pickup delayed

Fayetteville has suspended trash and recycling collection due to poor road conditions.

Due to the extreme ice and poor road conditions the City of Fayetteville Solid Waste and Recycling Division has suspended all solid waste, (Trash, Recycling and Yard Waste) Residential collections. The Solid Waste Division services will be delayed one day for the full week of December 9th. Services are currently scheduled to resume with a one day delay from your normally schedule day of service. (Example Normal residential Monday service will be collected on Tuesday, Normal Tuesday residential service will be collected on Wednesday, Normal Wednesday residential service will be collected on Thursday and Normal Thursday residential service will be collected on Friday). With the weight of the Solid Waste Trash Trucks and the dangers should the truck hit & damage an object as a result of loss of traction, along with the safety of the Solid Waste and Recycling workers is of great concern as their jobs require them to be outside and exposed to icy conditions – the safety risk is too great for operations to continue at this time.

The Solid Waste and Recycling Transfer Station will be closed on Monday.

The North Street Drop Off Center, and the Solid Waste Offices will open to the public on a two (2) hour delayed opening schedule.

If you have any questions about your solid waste and recycling services, please contact the Solid Waste and Recycling Division at 575-8398 after the delayed opening business hours, 10 am to 5pm, Monday. And normal business hours Tuesday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, or view information posted on the City’s website at www.fayetteville-ar.gov
