Rogers Coffee With A Cop Planned For Tuesday

ROGERS — The Rogers Police Department plans a community gathering 8-10 a.m. Tuesday at Chick-fil-A in the Scottsdale Center at 4001 W. Walnut St., according to a news release.

“Coffee with a Cop” allows members of the community to meet with police officers in an informal and neutral location, talk about community issues and build relationships. Residents can ask questions and learn more about the department’s work.

Many times, the only time people deal with police is during emergencies or when emotions are high. Those times are not always the best for relationship building. Some people may feel officers are “unapproachable on the street,” according to the release.

The event is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
