Beaver Lake: Black bass are biting spinner baits and shallow-diving crank baits in shallow water.

John Newlun at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said the best fishing is in the White or War Eagle tributaries, but bass can be caught lake-wide.

Work main-lake shorelines, or shorelines in the front half of major creek arms.

Anglers report catching striped bass on brood minnows or shad in the Monte Ne area, and near points 5 and 6. Fish 10 to 20 feet deep.

Crappie fishing is slow.

Try jigs 20 feet deep around timber.

Caleb Dovell at Hickory Creek Marina said crappie fishing is slow. A few have been caught with jigs 20 feet deep around timber and brush piles. Good jig colors are red or black with a chartreuse tail.

Jason Piper at J.T. Crappie Guide Services said anglers should look for crappie to be suspended near pole timber or above brush piles in water 20 to 45 feet deep near a channel. Work a jig, minnow or curly-tail grub from the bottom up. Or, use a minnowunder a slip bobber 15 to 25 feet deep.

Good jig or grub colors are black/chartreuse, yellow/white or electric chicken. Productive areas include Pine Creek, Monte Ne, Horseshoe Bend and Avoca Hollow.

Beaver Tailwater: Nancy Rose at the Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting Power Bait. Good colors are orange or white. Tip the Power Bait with a waxworm if the bite is slow.

Good lure choices include small spoons and micro jigs.

Effective flies are black orolive woolly buggers, midges and sowbugs.

Lake Fayetteville: Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock said all fishing is slow.

Not many people are fishing.

A few crappie have been caught with small jigs 12 to 15 feet deep. Try spinner baits or jig and pigs for black bass.

Lake Sequoyah: Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah bait shop said black bass are biting plastic worms or jig and pigs. Crappie are biting jigs or minnows 4 to 10 feet deep.

Swepco Lake: Black bass fishing is good, reports Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs. Use plastic worms in dark colors 2 to 10 feet deep along steep, rocky banks.

Stroud and a buddy caught 40 largemouth bass to 2.5 pounds on Tuesday with green plastic worms and shadcolored single-tail grubs.

Bella Vista: Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said trout fishing is good at Lake Brittany with spoons and Power Bait.

Bluegill fishing is fair at all Bella Vista lakes on nightcrawlers or crickets.

Black bass are biting at all lakes on square-billed crank baits or jig and pigs 5 to 8 feet deep.

Upper Table Rock Lake: J.D. Fletcher at Eagle Rock, Mo., said black bass are biting top-water lures and spinner baits.

Jeff Fletcher and Gary Marshall caught several bass two weeks ago working mainchannel shorelines with Zara Spooks and spinner baits, J.D.

Eastern Oklahoma: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports all fishing is slow at Lake Eucha. No report from Grand Lake.
