Crawford County officials say four people have been found dead at a home near Alma and that two of the victims were children.

The Southwest Times Record newspaper reported Tuesday that investigators had not released the identities of those killed but believe one of the dead shot the others.

State Police were called in to help investigate but referred calls to the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, which did not return calls to The Associated Press. The Arkansas Highway Police was directing traffic around the scene on Old Rudy Road north of Alma.

Television station KHBS of Fort Smith reported the victims were found in the front and back yards of the home. The station said deputies believed the suspect was a man who shot and killed himself as officers arrived.
