Rogers Woman Sentenced for Permitting Abuse

— A Rogers woman was placed on probation and will spend time in jail after pleading guilty to permitting the abuse of a minor.

Christy Carr, 30, pleaded guilty to the felony charge Thursday. Her plea was under an agreement her attorney, David Hogue, reached with Bonnie Bridges, deputy prosecutor.

Carr was arrested March 29, 2011, after her husband, Thomas Carr, was arrested in connection with raping two girls.

She was accused of not reporting the abuse, according to court documents.

Circuit Judge Brad Karren accepted the plea agreement and Carr’s guilty plea.

Christy Carr was placed on four years probation and ordered to serve 88 days in the Benton County Jail. She must pay $2,120 in court associated costs.

Thomas Carr, 32, pleaded guilty to rape charges in February 2o12, and was sentenced to 60 years in prison. He has to serve at least 42 years in prison before he will be eligible for parole.

He is being held at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Brickeys.
