Ecuador requiring music to hit home
New law mandates that half of music on airwaves there be locally produced

When you spin the radio dial in this high-altitude city you could be almost anywhere. The airwaves are crowded with the likes of Beyonce, Shakira and Pitbull, just as if you were cruising a highway in Miami or Manhattan — rather than tooling through the snowcapped Andes.
