Bentonville's McKinney Trust Gives Out Money

BENTONVILLE — The Carl and Alleen McKinney Trust awarded $177,477 to area nonprofit groups during a presentation at Arvest Bank on Friday.

Recipients included:

• Lifeline of Northwest Arkansas: $15,000

• Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County: $20,000

• Bella Vista Library: $7,185

• Youth Bridge: $15,000

• Boys & Girls Club of Benton County: $9,059

• Sunshine School & Development Center: $17,133

• Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter: $10,000

• Horses for Healing: $12,000

• Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter: $15,000

• Helen Walton Children’s Enrichment Center: $2,000

• The Adult Development Center doing business as Open Avenues: $16,700

• Arkansas Children’s Hospital: $15,000

• Circle of Life: $15,000

• Community Development Corp. of Bentonville/Bella Vista Havenwood Program: $8,400

The trust, established to benefit the children, youth, elderly, poor and disadvantaged of Bentonville, has given more than $2.4 million to charities since its creation, according to a news release.
