A pedestrian was killed Saturday night after he was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 71B in Rogers, authorities said.
Balentina Ortiz was traveling north in a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe when Ortiz struck Jose Villatoro-Munguia who was walking on the road at approximately 9:40 p.m., according to a state police report.
The accident took place at the 2300 block of South 8th Street on U.S. 71B and happened in dry conditions, the report states.
Both individual's residences and ages are not known at this time, state police spokesman Bill Sadler said.
Villatoro-Munguia's death is the 303rd fatality in Arkansas traffic accidents this year, according to preliminary figures.
