in local cookoff
Bentonville will host the second annual World Championship Squirrel Cookoff Sept. 7. More than 40 teams from all over the nation will compete for a $500 grand prize, trophies and bragging rights.
The cost to enter the cooking competition is $50 and proceeds from the event will be donated to the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter. Deadline for team registration is Wednesday.

Ozark Folkways plans art show
The sixth annual Ozark Folkways Fiber Arts Show and Fair - a diverse display of fiber arts, demonstrations, homemade food and live music all day - will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at Ozark Folkways in Winslow.
