Waterfowl Festival set for Aug. 24-25

SILOAM SPRINGS - The Christian Waterfowlers Association will host the International Waterfowl Festival and Outdoor Expo on Aug. 24-25 at Christian Life Church. The church is 3.5 miles east of Siloam Springs at 17410 Kincheloe Road off U.S. 412.

The festival and expo will feature duck and goose calling competitions, a trap shooting competition, a fishing derby, children’s activities, vendors, giveaways and a Sportsman’s Chapel. Seminars from champion duck callers and sportsmen are also on the schedule.

New for this year is the Duck Dynasty Look-Alike Contest. Contestants can dress like members of the Robertson family - Phil, Willie, Korie, Miss Kay, Jase or Si. The contest will havetwo age groups - 2-17 and 18 and older.

The fundraising dinner on Aug. 24 will feature Chuck McAlister, host of Adventure-Bound Outdoors television series, as speaker, as well as liveand silent auctions and a gun giveaway. Cost for dinner is $25 and includes membership in the Christian Waterfowlers Association. A VIP “meet and greet” ticket for dinner is $50.

Tim Sallee, founder of the Christian Waterfowlers Association and pastor of Christian Life Church, said last year’s festival drew about 100 vendors and organizations from 19 states.

Pride of the Ozarks to perform Sunday

BELLA VISTA - Members of The Pride of the Ozarks Chorus will perform during the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday at Forest Hills Church, an American Baptist congregation at 1702 Forest Hills Blvd. The chorus will provide music throughout the service, blending in with the Rev. Sue Metcalf’s message, “A Look at the Psalms When Longing for the Lord’s Presence.”

Coffee and sweets are served at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday Schoolat 9:45. All are welcome.

The Pride of the Ozarks Chorus is part of the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

Ministries conduct

marriage retreat

BRANSON - Eagle Family Ministries of Bentonville will host a “Real Love Real Marriage” retreat Sept. 13-15 at the Chateau on the Lake Resort. The small group retreat will include sessions on relationships, as well as free time for couples to explore Branson. Steve Tucker, co-founder of Eagle Family Ministries, will be the main speaker. Tucker is author of Simple Recipes for Romance.
