Man hit twice on College Avenue dies

A Fayetteville man died Tuesday after being hit by two vehicles on North College Avenue late last week.

Gilbert Flores, 34, was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center and later transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. on Friday.

According to a news release from Fayetteville police, Flores left Hooters, 4143 N Shiloh Drive, at 10:06 p.m. and was crossing the street when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Edita Guevasa, 33, of Springdale. Flores stood up and was struck by a Ford van driven by Peter Ewald, 52, of Fort Smith. Police Sgt. Craig Stout said the drivers do not face any criminal charges.
