Stanley Ludwig, a retired judge, died Tuesday of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to an account in police records confirmed by Chief Kathy O'Kelley.

Police responded to a 911 call at 9:32 a.m.to Bogey Drive to find a body that was quickly identified as Ludwig, 67. The body was located on the back deck of the residence.
Ludwig, who was the city and district judge of Springdale for 28 years, retired in October 2010.
