SPRINGDALE — Roommates disagreed Monday on how one suffered a puncture wound to his leg, police said.

One man said his roommate, Dulunzo Johnson, threw a knife at him, while Johnson, 25, claimed the man did it to himself, according to a police news release.

Police responded to a 911 call at 9:48 a.m. to a reported stabbing at 3214-B Singletree Ave. The caller said he was stabbed by his roommate with a butcher knife and he had to pull the knife out.

When police arrived, the wounded man said Johnson threw the knife at him. Johnson disputed the accusation, saying the wounded man did it to himself. There were no other witnesses. The name of the injured man was not released by police.

The injured man refused to be taken to a hospital for treatment. The small wound was not life-threatening, police said. Johnson was questioned by detectives and released because of conflicting statements, according to the release.

The case is under investigation, according to the release.
