Bond Set For Man Accused In Shooting

BENTONVILLE — Bond was set at $250,000 for the man accused of firing multiple shots into a Bentonville private club last week. The bond was set at a hearing over the weekend.

Kevin William Hayes, 40, of Bentonville was in the Benton County Jail on Monday in the wake of the Friday morning shooting. Prosecutors have not filed formal charges against him.

Hayes is accused of shooting at least five rounds into Bentley’s, a private club at 911 S.E. 28th St., about 3:43 a.m. Friday. Bentonville police officers apprehended Hayes after a brief car chase, according to information from the department. No one was injured during the shooting.

Police said preliminary findings of the investigation suggest Hayes had a disagreement with club staff earlier Friday after causing a disturbance.

A bond and probable cause hearing listed preliminary charges of aggravated assault, arson, criminal mischief, discharge of a firearm from a car, driving while intoxicated, fleeing, tampering with physical evidence and commission of a terroristic act. His next court appearance is set for 8 a.m. June 3 before Circuit Judge Robin Green.
