Where I live: I live out on Monitor Road in Springdale. I live in the old wedding chapel. It’s a two-story house that used to be a small church. I live on two acres just inside the city limits. I was originally going to start an art studio there, but you know how things are — things change. The house is sort of a work in progress.

Occupation: Co-founder and instructor at the Community Creative Center in Fayetteville. I’ve worked there for the past five years, and, before that, I worked for the Walton Arts Center doing basically the same thing. I teach classes, and I run the studio. I teach kids from age 3 and up. The Walton Arts Center had decided to focus mainly on performing arts, so they were going to eliminate the visual arts programming. I mainly work in clay, but I’m kind of a multimedia artist. I work a lot in mosaics and painting.

My favorite space: My studio.

Why? Because that’s where I get to go and do what I love. I also share it with my grandkids. They’ve got their little area, and I’ve got my area. We can all be in there at the same time doing what we love. It’s sort of a playroom for my grandkids. There’s a chalkboard, a play area and doll houses. It’s a mishmash of things.

If I could change one thing to improve this space I would: Make it bigger.
