HORSE RACING Oaklawn promotes Longinotti

Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs has promoted David Longinotti from assistant general manager for racing to director of racing, the track announced Thursday afternoon.

Longinotti will directly oversee Oaklawn’s entire racing operation, from purse distribution to staffing, according to a news release.

“I’m not sure there’s really anything much different from what I had been doing,” Longinotti said. “I just think it makes things easier to explain.”

A Hot Springs native, Longinotti was named Oaklawn’s assistant general manager for racing in 2006. He spent the previous decade as a senior account executive with Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods advertising agency in Little Rock.

Live racing at Oaklawn is scheduled to resume Jan. 10.
