Prairie Grove Detective Rex Frederick was fired on Wednesday, nearly two weeks after his involvement in a fight at a local pool hall, Capt. Chris Workman said Friday.

Frederick and Little Rock Police Officer Jeffrey Harris were initially suspended after witnesses said they brandished guns at Billy's Pool Hall on Razorback Road in Fayetteville.

Frederick and Harris were drinking beer and liquor before starting a fight and pulling out their guns, according to Adam Morano, pool hall manager.

Security video shows Frederick pushed a man in the back after the detective was asked to leave. That push led to a fight with employees and customers. Harris pointed a weapon at several customers during the fight, according to the video. The video shows Frederick holding a gun as the officers were leaving the establishment.

No arrests were made because the establishment is considered a restaurant, according to Fayetteville Police Sgt. Craig Stout.

Stout said concealed weapon laws in Arkansas prohibit carrying weapons into establishments that sell alcohol, unless it is a restaurant

The case has been forwarded to a conflict attorney in Little Rock.

Prairie Grove Police Chief Carl Dorman was out of the office Friday and couldn't be reached for comment.
