Engineers Set Agreement ROGERS - The Beaver Lake Foundation will officially be up and running following a ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday with foundation organizers and the Army Corps of Engineers at Prairie Creek park.

An agreement between the foundation and corps will be signed at the event by corps officials from the Little Rock District and Kerry Jensen, foundation president. The public is welcome.

The Beaver Lake Foundation has been in the formation stage for more than a year. Its mission is to assist the corps financially and with manpower to provide amenities at Beaver Lake the corps cannot provide, Jensen said.

Projects planned by the nonprofit foundation include educational programs at corps parks, a life-jacket loaner plan and tours of the Beaver Lake dam.

Breakfast Planned

At Rocky Branch ROGERS - The Rocky Branch Volunteer Fire Department will hold a breakfast fundraiser from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by a highway cleanup from 10 a.m.

to noon.

Cost for the breakfast is $6 and includes biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice.

Volunteers are needed for the cleanup along Arkansas 303 and adjacent roads. Trash bags and safety vests are provided.

The Rocky Branch fire station at 19862 Arkansas 303 is the venue for both events.

Lake’s Boat Ramp

Closed Saturday BELLA VISTA - The Tiree Park boat ramp at Loch Lomond will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday for Arts in the Park.

Boaters should load and unload at the Stoneykirk or Granton boat ramps, according to a news release.

Children To Be Celebrated SPRINGDALE - Art, music and more are among the events set for a celebration of Arkansas Children’s Week from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the JTL Shop, 614 E. Emma Ave.

Goodie bags, door prizes will be given away and lunch will be provided. The event is sponsored by Children’s Safety Center.

Rodeo Starts At Fairgrounds

The Centerton Area Chamber of Commerce will host the NWA Championship Rodeo through Saturday at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Events start at 7 p.m. each day, according to a news release.

There will also be a rodeo parade starting at 11 a.m.

Saturday in Centerton. The parade route will start at Harps and go to Cass Street, then turn east to Woods Drive, then to Walker Street and north to Bliss Street and onto Main Street.
