Museum unveils Haring sculpture

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art on Wednesday unveiled a new sculpture on the museum’s outdoor patio, known as Walker Landing. Two-Headed Figure (1986) by graffiti artist Keith Haring features the heads of two of the signature figures common to Haring’s bold graphic work - a baby and a barking dog - attached to opposite ends of a jelly bean shaped body. The aluminum sculpture covered in bright red polyurethane paint is in an area frequented at lunchtime by visiting school groups and families.

The acquisition was made possible by film producer Sybil Robson Orr, niece of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and Helen Walton, and Orr’s husband, British financier Matthew Orr.
