Several local residents enlisted recently in the Arkansas Army National Guard. After basic training and additional military skill training, they will receive the following assignments:

!Benton County has opened an additional location as a county veteran service office 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Tuesdays at the Civic Center, 110 N. Mount Olive St., Siloam Springs. The new location is in addition to the main office in the county administration building at 215 E. Central Blvd., Room 305, in Bentonville. That office is open 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Monday through Friday.

!Operation Renewal has scheduled its third annual Military Heroes Benefit Motorcycle Ride among the scenic hills of Northwest Arkansas and southwestern Missouri the morning of June 22. The nonprofit organization provides support and activities for military families in Northwest Arkansas.

Ride registration in advance is $20 at OperationRenewal.org or $25 at the event. The fee includes the pancake breakfast, barbeque lunch, a free T-shirt for the first 50 bikers, cash prizes, raffle prizes, biker games and contests, secured bike-only parking and give-aways.

The breakfast starts at 9 a.m. at the Wallis and Witcher Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3031, at 11160 N. Old Wire Road in Rogers. The first bikes start at 9:45 a.m. The ride ends atthe Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce, 516 Village Circle Drive with the last bike in at 1:45 p.m. The partner hotel is the Inn of the Ozarks at innoftheozarks.
