Toads to hop onto bikes using pedals

Toad Suck Daze always includes 10K and 5K footraces, but some years, the festival in Conway hasn’t offered a bicycle event. Fear not, cyclists, the Tour de Toad lives in 2013.

At 8 a.m. May 5, cyclists can set off from the Conway High School Field House, 2300 Prince St., on a 25- or a 46-mile noncompetitive, aid-supported group ride. All levels of cyclists are welcome. The $40 entry fee includes lunch after the ride.

Registration is available online at active.com (search for “Tour de Toad”). Packet pickup and late registration will open at 7 a.m. May 5 at the fieldhouse.

Proceeds will benefit Literacy Action of Central Arkansas’ tutoring programs in Faulkner County. Tour de Toad is presented by First Security Bank and supported by the Conway Chamber of Commerce, The Ride, First Class Trophy and radio station KCNY-FM, 107.1.

Literacy Action offices are in the main library of the Central Arkansas Library System in Little Rock and in the Faulkner County Library in Conway. More information is at (501) 372-7323.
