Photo contest seeks entries from Beaver Lake Watershed

The Beaver Watershed Alliance has announced the Beaver Watershed Alliance Watershed Photography Contest for area amateur and semi-professional photographers.

The contest will run through May 15 and will be open to all area amateur photographers from two age groups: Youth, ages 9-17, and adult, 18 and older.

Bedford Camera & Video locations, 1320 W. Walnut St. in Rogers and 3277 N.

College Ave. in Fayetteville, will provide drop-off areas in their shops for print submissions by participants.

Winners will be announced on June at War Eagle Appreciation Day, where the winning photographs will be on display.

Entries sought are “striking images of nature, highlighting the diversity of the Beaver Lake Watershed.

Images may be taken anywhere in the Beaver Lake Watershed, which includes War Eagle Creek, Richland Creek, Lake Sequoyah, the West Fork of the White River, the Headwaters of the White River and Beaver Lake.”

Photographs must be submitted as prints (8-by-10 or 8-by-12 inches) to one of the two Bedford locations in Northwest Arkansas, andin digital format to Courtney Thomas at courtney@ beaverwatershedalliance.

org no later than 5 p.m. on May 15.

The photographs must have been taken during the contest period, which started April 1.

Photo captions must accompany all submissions and should include the name of the photographer, age, the subject of the image, the date the photo was taken and the location at which the image was taken.
