Former developer Brandon Barber, facing 27 federal charges, was ordered Monday not to handle any money or banking transactions for other people.

Barber told U.S. Magistrate Judge Erin Setser during a hearing in Fayetteville that he is employed selling insurance for The Hotaling Group in New York City.

Setser said Barber can sell insurance but not pursue a real-estate license or do financial transactions for others without prior court approval.

Barber is charged with 27 counts of conspiracy and fraud in connection with financial transactions in Northwest Arkansas and his personal bankruptcy. He pleaded not guilty at Monday's hearing.

Barber's trial was scheduled for June 17 in U.S. District Court in Fort Smith.

Barber will remain under home detention in New York, where he will be monitored by a GPS device and allowed to go only to certain places, including work, church and for parental duties.
