Where I live: I live in Bella Vista. We’re very close to the Highlands Crossing Center, which is where my office is. We are also close to restaurants, the movie theater, gasoline stations, Dollar General, groceries and health-care offices. We chose our house because it’s on a relatively level lot. It’s handicap accessible — not that we need it now, but someday we might. It’s very open and easy to get around in.

Occupation: I’m a retired registered nurse. I have a doctorate in education and taught at Ohio University for a number of years. Right now, I’m the coordinator for education for the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education in Bella Vista. Our mission is to help people grow old gracefully so that they can enjoy their time as much as possible.

My favorite space: My sun room.

Why? It’s kind of like being outside while you’re inside. We can watch the birds, the deer and other little varmints that run around. We go out there first thing in the morning and we have our coffee, read the paper and listen to the birds sing. When we’re home, we spend most of our time out there.

If I could do one thing to improve this space I would: Install wood floors.
