COMMENTARY: Would A Child Vote To Get A Spanking?

Brenda and I have had the joy, challenge and responsibility of raising two daughters who are now grown and married, but the other day I was reflecting about what transpired, especially in the early years.

What a stupid analogy.
Now we need our government to spank us!
"Do we have politicians who are honest enough and courageous enough to eliminate or reform programs we just can’t aft ord?"
And what do you know, those programs we can't afford turn out to help the poor, sick, disabled, and elderly.
You can see how well austerity policies worked in Europe. Some countries are in deep recession with a quarter or more of their people unemployed.
Guess they need more of a spanking.

I have not yet seen anything about this in the newspaper, but scores of journalists in scores of countries have been investigating how the wealthiest among us are hiding their money offshore to avoid taxes,
We are talking about trillions of dollars.
This is bigger than Wikileaks.

Mr. Canfield doesn't seem aware that his analogy suggests he is in favor of a nanny state.
Only his nanny takes away the kid's allowance, and maybe supper too.
