Arrest made in jewelry, liquor store burglaries

Fayetteville police have arrested a man in connection with burglaries and thefts at a jewelry store and a liquor store, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Police responding at 4:29 a.m. to an alarm a Swift Jewelers at 27 N. Block Ave. found a broken window and missing jewelry. Officers found a man walking near Dickson Street and Locust Avenue, according to the news release.

Police found that the man had jewelry from the store, and also linked him to a burglary and theft at Dickson Street Liquor.

Christopher Treat, 27, of Fayetteville was arrested in connection with two counts of commercial burglary, criminal mischief, theft of property and public intoxication, the news release stated.
