'Significant' jobs announcement set for Fort Smith

A "significant" job-creation announcement is set for Thursday afternoon in Fort Smith, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission has announced.

The announcement, set for 2:45 p.m. at the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce building, 612 Garrison Ave., will feature Fort Smith and company leaders, the commission said.

There was no information available on the company or number of jobs involved. A Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce spokesman said no additional information would be made available ahead of the afternoon announcement.
