Bentonville man gets 10 years for meth distribution

A Bentonville man was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison without parole for distribution of methamphetamine, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge.

Omar Perez, 30, was arrested after selling 9 grams of methamphetamine for $850 to a confidential source with the Rogers Police Department in August 2012, the release states. He pleaded guilty to the charge in December.

Judge Jimm Larry Hendren sentenced Perez to 10 years and eight months in prison with no possibility of parole, three years supervised release and a $20,000 fine, according to the release.

The Department of Homeland Security and the Rogers Police Department investigated the case.
