Arkansas received its fourth oral commitment for the 2014 class Monday night when Bentonville tight end Jack Kraus told Arkansas coaches he wanted to be a Razorback.

Kraus, 6-5, 240 pounds, 4.9 seconds in the 40-yard dash, also has offers from Illinois and Utah State while drawing interest from Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU and Memphis.

Kraus said he called tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr., who was Bentonville’s offensive coordinator before joining the Arkansas staff, and Coach Bret Bielema.

“I talked to my family over the last couple of weeks and decided today was the day,” Kraus said. “I gave Coach Lunney Jr. a call and then I called Coach Bielema and told him I wanted to commit.”

Kraus said his relationship with Lunney drew him to Arkansas, along with other factors.

“Just because of the unique situation with Coach Lunney Jr. and the new facilities that are being built that are second to none,” Kraus said. “The conference that Arkansas is in, it’s pretty much the best of everything so it was pretty hard to say no.”

Oral commitments are nonbinding.
