• John P. Brunner Jr. was named to the 2011-2012 dean’s list at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., which requires a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. He is the son of Kimberly L. and John P. Brunner St. of Rogers. He is currently a sophomore at Bucknell.

• Jordan Marie Park of Rogers was named to the dean’s list at Clemson University, which requires at least a 3.50 grade point average.

• Kaitlyn Miranda Elam of Rogers graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

• Nathan Creasey of Siloam Springs was among 52 young people who participated in the 39th annual Arkansas Farm Bureau Teen Challenge Camp this summer near Ferndale.

• Jennifer LeClair, a mathematics major from Bella Vista, was named to the dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, which requires at least a 3.5 grade point average.

• Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla named local students to the dean’s list, which requires at least a 3.2 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credit hours:

Lowell — Payton Thomas Jimison, engineering;

Rogers — Caroline Murphy, engineering; Samuel Harrison Murphy, nuclear engineering; and Laura Townzen, biological sciences.

• Stephen A. Turner of Rogers earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering at Wichita State University in Kansas.

• Karly Kenyon, a major in English language arts education from Bentonville, was named to the dean’s list at Greenville College in Greenville, Ill., which requires at least a 3.5 grade point average for freshman year.

• Ryan Elizabeth Hudnall of Rogers graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in communication arts and history.

• Perla Quintana of Rogers was awarded the Gammill Family Foundation Scholarship. The daughter of Elena Guzman and Filemon De Luna, both of Rogers, is a sophomore nursing major at Missouri State-West Plains. She is a 2008 graduate of Rogers High School.

• Local students who graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., were:

Kelsi Johnson of Rogers, who earned a bachelor’s degree in film and television; and Melissa Roberts-Vest of Bella Vista, who earned a master’s degree in arts administration.

• Hilary Zedlitz of Rogers is among five freshmen to receive a Sturgis Fellowship at the University of Arkansas. The Heritage High School graduate is a political science major. She as a War Eagle Scholar for four years, received academic awards from the Public Service Academy and the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce and was a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student. The daughter of Brenda and Mark Zedlitz was selected as one of 50 international team leaders for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program. The fellowship award, which grants $12,500 per year for four years for educational expenses, had more than 500 students applicants this year.

• Hillary McBride of Centerton, the daughter of Barbara McBride, was named to the honors dean’s list at Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., which requires a grade point average between 3.6 and 3.79.

• Rogers State University in Claremore, Okla., named two area students to its honor rolls. Bethany McFerron was on the president’s list, which requires a 4.0 grade point average for the semester, and Lindsey Thompson was named to the dean’s list, which requires at least a 3.5 grade point average, with no grade lower than a B.

• Mabel Serrano of Lowell was awarded a Mulerider Success Scholarship by the Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. The daughter of Maria Serano and Hugo Serrano was granted $1,200 per semester, with a four-year value of $9,600.

photo • Isaac Thompson of Bentonville was awarded a $2,000 ADHD Scholarship from Shire, a global specialty biopharmaceutical company. The Bentonville High School graduate attends the University of Arkansas. He also receives a prepaid year of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder coaching services from the Edge Foundation. Shire awarded 50 scholarships nationally, based on essays from 1,437 applicants explaining the challenges they face due to ADHD and how they manage the disorder.
