October Proclaimed Meth Awareness Month

— Van Stone, Benton County prosecutor, read a proclamation Friday declaring October Methamphetamine Awareness Month in the county.

Stone read the proclamation on behalf of County Judge Bob Clinard.

The month is coordinated by the Benton County Methamphetamine Task Force, a subcommittee of Drug Free Rogers-Lowell, a program of the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber Commerce, according to a news release.

Megan Cuddy, vice president of community development for the chamber, said speakers will visit schools to talk with students concerning the dangers of methamphetamine. Cuddy said commercials will be broadcast during the month focusing on methamphetamine use.
