Angels Pageant seeks participants
The Northwest Arkansas Angels Pageant, a pageant for children and adults with special needs, is set for Nov. 3 at the Jones Center in Springdale. Any resident with a medically diagnosed physical or intellectual impairment may participate.
Registration is free; deadline is Monday. Participants will get their hair and makeup done free of charge.
Every participant will get a crown, sash, goody bag and Tshirt. The pageant is not competitive.
Pageant organizers are also seeking volunteers and sponsors to help with the pageant. It costs $25 to sponsor one participant; any business sponsoring four participants will be named as a presenting sponsor.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville will host “Fact Amidst Fiction: Identifying the Real Wild West” from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday.
Guests can learn about the American frontier through silent films, paintings and photographs and discuss artists’ portrayals of the Wild West. The event will feature two panel discussions with Academy Award winner and British silent film historian Kevin Brownlow.
Other panelists include museum Assistant Curator Manuela Well-Off-Man; curatorial assistant Ali Demorotski; University of Arkansas Professor Elliot West; scholar Rober Myers; film preservationist David Shephard; and Steve Gragert, director of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore, Okla.
Space is limited; reservations are required. The event is free and open to the public.
Brownlow will also present a lecture at 8 p.m. Monday in Giffels Auditorium at Old Main on the UA campus in Fayetteville.
