JOHN F. BEASLEY, age 49, passed away September 24, 2012 at his home in Little Rock, Ark. John was born November 30, 1962 in Little Rock.

John is survived by his wife; Janice Beasley, three sons; Derrick Beasley of Beebe, Chris Beasley and wife Krystel of Benton, and Todd Beasley of Little Rock; his mother, Linda Slaughter of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Haven and Kennedy Beasley of Beebe, and Jacoby Beasley of Benton; three sisters, Debbie Buckalew of Little Rock, Teresa Lee of Bryant and Kristi Loyd of Marked Tree; two brothers, Peter Beasley of Little Rock and Ronnie Davis of North Little Rock and many nieces, nephews, friends and other family members all who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his father, William Earl Beasley and one brother, Willie Beasley.

John’s favorite hobbies were fishing and watching Nascar. He also enjoyed working with wood, collecting coins, and watching football. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed spending time with his pet yorkie, Charlie.

RALPH ALFISH EUDY, 91, of Jacksonville went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was born in Tuckerman, Ark., to the late James and Hattie France Campbell Eudy. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter Jo Ann Nichols.

Ralph was of Baptist faith and a Veteran of World War II in Europe, Normandy and Battle of the Bulge. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Marie Eudy; four daughters, Carolyn Collins (Dennis) of Corsicana, Texas, Judy Steven (Jimmy) of Denton, Texas, Rita Wagner (Bill) of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Donna Marie Harp-Eudy of Sherwood, Ark.; grandchildren, Patricia Hunting, Vicki Wallis, James Trickey, Dennis Eugene Collins, Casey Collins, Michael Stevens, Jennifer Stevens, Evan Wagner, Travis Wagner, Micah Wagner, Alexandra Powell, and Roy Smith; 21 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

ARVID NEAL “ED” FISHER, age 75, of Jacksonville, passed away on September 25, 2012. He was born in Burke, South Dakota, on May 9, 1937 to Lucille Sanders. He graduated from Burke, South Dakota. He retired from the United States Air Force, built race cars and drove the big rigs for 12 years.

He is survived by his mother, Lucille Sanders, his wife Myrna Fisher and three children: David Fisher, June (James) Branch, Gail (Alan) Schnebelen; five grandchildren; two great-grandchldren: Katlyn and Jimmy Graham.

Ed is a member of Bible Baptist Church and a member of the Fillipino American Association. We would like to thank Dr. Patel, Baptist Hospital and Arkansas Hospice.

STEVE HULL, age 56, died September 16, 2012 from complications of a stroke. Steve was born June 9, 1956 in Little Rock. He was a 1974 graduate of McClellan High School. He was employed by Frances Flower Shop.

He is survived by brothers Robert Pierce of Pine Bluff, Ronald Kreth Pierce of Little Rock; and step-father Jim Butler of Maumelle. He was preceded in death by his mother Mrs. Jim Butler of Mayflower and his long-time partner Don Gilbert of Little Rock.

MONTINE ROLAND, age 90, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2012. She was born June 6, 1922 in Holland, Ark., to the late John Calvin and Rose Ann Potter. She was a faithful member of Levy Baptist Church in North Little Rock, for 63 years. She was a retired cafeteria worker from the North Little Rock School District.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Hulen Roland; five sisters, Jewell Bailey, Pearline Potter, Atheline Potter, Christeen Potter, Ephlene Austen; one brother, Roy Potter; and her daughter, Reta Brannen. She is survived by a son, Billy VanPelt of North Little Rock; brother, John “JC” Potter of Little Rock; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and host of nephews and nieces.

VERNELLE WORNOCK ROSSI, 79, of Little Rock, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. She was born on December 10, 1932 in Austin, Ark., to late Jeff D. and Ethel Wornock. She was a 1950 graduate of Little Rock High School (Central High), and attended Harding College in Searcy. Also, she was a charter member of Pulaski Heights/Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Mrs. Rossi is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert E Rossi; daughter, Suzanne Rossi Gates of Conway; son, Michael R. (Pamala Peachey) Rossi; granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca Rossi; brother, Arnold “Buddy” (Gay) Wornock; sister, Dolores DuVall, all of Little Rock; brother, Don Wornock of Texarkana; sister, Joy (Cliff) Powell of Hot Springs; brother-in-law, Joseph A. (Inez) Rossi of Little Rock; and nine nieces and nephews. JOYCE DILLON SPENCER passed away on September 24, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was 86 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William R. “Gick” Spencer, Sr., and their son, William R. “Bill” Spencer, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her two beloved sisters, Arbie Callis and Ila Byrd, both of Little Rock. She is survived by her four grandchildren, William R. “Spence” Spencer III, of Tampa, Fla., April Spencer Wyatt of Valdese, N.C., Austin T. Spencer of Fayetteville, Ark., and Taylor D. Spencer of Little Rock. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren, Lauren Spencer, Carter Wyatt, Samuel Spencer, Thomas Spencer and Autumn Wyatt.

Joyce Spencer was born on February 20, 1926 in Selmer, Tennessee to John and Allie Dillon. She graduated with honors and ahead of schedule from Little Rock High School. She then immediately worked for several years at the School Board here in Little Rock. In 1951, Joyce starting working for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department and her career spanned over 30 years of service. In her final position, she served as the Executive Secretary to the Highway Commissioner before retiring in March, 1984.

Joyce was a lifelong member of the First Church of God, Little Rock, and over the years mentored dozens of young people on the importance of memorizing crucial portions of the Bible in order to grow in their relationship with Jesus. In her latter years, she attended Community Park Church in Bryant. Joyce will be greatly missed by her family and friends who loved her so much.

The funeral service will be held today, Thursday, September 27 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), with Rev. She later united with the Cornerstone Baptist Church in North Little Rock where she worked faithfully until her health failed. CHARLES HILDRETH WHITE of Little Rock, Ark., was born August 19, 1929, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, the son of the late William Delane White and Kathleen Hardage White. He departed us on September 24, 2012.

He earned his master’s degree in social work from the University of Missouri. Mr. White joined UAMS on July 8, 1958 as a pediatric social worker investigating childabuse cases and helping families get medical care they needed.

In 1972, he was named director of social services, and then two years later he was appointed as director in the Office of Human Relations. He was named assistant vice chancellor for employee relations in 2003 and remained in that position until his retirement after 53 years at UAMS.

He had three brothers that preceded him in death: William J. White, Arthur D. White and Frederick T. White; and three sisters, Ruby L. Brewster, Georgia Bell White and Clara A. Thorpe. His loving survivors include: one daughter, Florence Caldwell of South Dakota; two grandchildren, Ronald E. Moultrie of Atlanta Ga., and Stacy L. Moultrie of Little Rock, Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Moultrie, Cydney Moultrie, Montay Moultrie, and Xavier Moultrie; one surviving sister, Anna M. Pope, of Pontiac Michigan and a host of other family members.

BENTON — Christine U. Lashlee, age 79, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012. She was born March 22, 1933, in Malvern, Arkansas. Mrs. Lashlee was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Neill Carr and Ella Mae Carr, and her husband, Jim Lashlee. CABOT — Jason Michael Swindle, age 24, of Cabot, died September 20, 2012, while serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. He was a 2006 graduate of Cabot High School.

CONWAY — Vicki L. Bishop, 59, of Conway, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2012. Vicki was born June 8, 1953, to Gene and Betty (Oakley) Burns in Little Rock. She was a very outgoing person who really enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed collecting angels and writing in her journal.

She is survived by her sisters, Brenda Vinyard, Barbara (Mike) Wood and Patty Burns; sons, Justin (Ali) Bishop and Charles Swaim, and a granddaughter, Lily Winter. She was preceded in death by her parents.

CONWAY — David William Kennedy, 83, joined his heavenly Father Sept. 24, 2012, in Conway, Arkansas. David was born May 18, 1929, in Matheson, Colorado to Virgil O. and Ethel R. Kennedy.

He graduated from Winfield High School (Kansas) in 1947. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 serving five years. During that time he served 18 months at the U.S. Naval Air Station on Guam during the Korean War. On April 28, 1950, David married the love of his life, Regina Diane Heath. He became a registered architect in 1971, one of only three men to have ever done so without a college degree scoring the top score on five of seven tests. He became a partner with the successful architectural firm, Roark, Perkins and Kennedy in Little Rock.

He served on the American Arbitration Association and was president of the Construction Specifications Institute. He participated in programs with the Built-Up Roofing Systems Institute. He received the Arkansas State Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers recognition as Emeritus Architect in 2011.

He participated actively in Boy Scouts of America, from 1962 to 1968, helping boys improve their lives through scouting principles and activities.

David was a member of Markham United Methodist Church, serving on numerous committees and programs. He was a chairman of the Building Committee and supervised the building of the original building of Markham Methodist Church in the 1960s. He was a member of Priscilla and Aquila Sunday school class. He held Sunday school teachers in high esteem after teaching a class one Sunday, noting that teaching the lesson was one of the hardest things he had ever done.

After retirement, David moved to Conway and lived on Lake Beaverfork where he enjoyed construction additions to his home and built an enormous china cabinet, which his wife dearly loved. He was a do-it-yourself person and was always busy working on some kind of projects. He enjoyed fishing when he could and was an avid reader of newspapers.

David was a fantastic husband for 62 years, helped raise his four sons, was dearly loved by many relatives, friends and neighbors and was the type of person who made the world a better place.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Shirley Jean Bradford, and his grandson Nicholas David Kennedy. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife Diane; his four sons, Robert Loren Kennedy, Kyle Gregory Kennedy (Linda), Joel Edward Kennedy, and Jon David Kennedy (Kathryn); siblings, Laura Bost (Al), Bob Kennedy (Rocky), Linda Sue Crabb (Rick), Kenneth Bradford; grandchildren, Katrisha Dawn Kennedy, Krystal LaShay Kennedy, Kara Alexie Kennedy, Kyla Danielle Kennedy, Mary Kathryn Kennedy, and Jack William Kennedy; and two greatgranddaughters, Isabelle and Julianna Osorio.

EL DORADO — “Ed” Edward Wainwright Marsh of El Dorado passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012, after a lengthy battle with metastatic bone cancer. He was born May 6, 1940, in El Dorado, Ark., the second son of Neill C. Marsh, Jr., and Lillian Bradley Marsh. He was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado serving as Deacon, Elder and Church Treasurer and served as a past Chairman and longtime member of the Property Committee.

Ed was a member of the 1958 graduating class of El Dorado High School, graduate of Southern State College in Magnolia (Southern Arkansas University) with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. After 1964 graduation from college, he went to work for Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation in Shreveport, Louisiana and Houston as an auditor. He joined Murphy Oil Corporation in 1967 as a Junior Accountant, and was promoted to Accountant in 1971 while retiring as Senior Income Tax Accountant in the Income Tax Department in March of 1996.

In April of 1996, Ed went to work for Mr. Charles H. Murphy Jr. as manager of the Murphy Family Foundation and continued with the Foundation until he fully retired in April of 2005.

Ed would tell you without hesitation that his daughter and son and their families were without a doubt his greatest assets. He was most proud of his six grandsons and the joy and laughter they brought to his life.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Neill C. Marsh III. Ed is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Kilgore Marsh, a daughter, Margaret Alicia Marsh Whitaker and her husband, Sam Whitaker; and their two sons, John Arthur Whitaker and Harrison Marsh Whitaker of Monticello, Ark.; his son, David Edward Marsh and his wife, Laura Haas Marsh; and four sons Jordan David Marsh, Alex Edward Marsh, and twins, Wesley Allen Marsh and David Andrew Marsh of Fayetteville, Ark. He is also survived by a nephew, Lt. Col. Michael Bradley Marsh, and his wife, Lisa Marsh, and their two sons Braden and Blake, and a niece, Elizabeth Marsh Neff and her husband, Bryan Neff of Dallas.

Ed was an avid sportsman who loved and respected nature. He carried a State of Arkansas lifetime hunting and fishing licenses and enjoyed hunting and fishing for many different game species within the state. He was extremely passionate about Duck hunting and Bass fishing. He greatly enjoyed sharing times with friends and relatives while hunting and fishing. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending summers on Lake DeGray with his family and shooting sports with his grandsons. Ed was a member of Camp Nine Hunting Club of Arkansas City and a member of Copperhead Hunting Club of Selma, Ark.

Pallbearers include: Jim Kilgore, Lt. Col. Michael Marsh, Bobby Joe Edmonds, Ron Smith, Billy Ray Cook, Adrin Hargett, Bobby McKinney and David Elmore. Honorary Pallbearers are Don Wales, Sam Allen, Gerald Jones, Buddy Ball, Mickey McKinnon, Kenny Mattocks, Kevin Watts, Emon Mahony, Charlie Christian, Felton Clark, Harry Bain, Ralph Langston and Ian Vickery.

A private family burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Woodlawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado with Rev. Dr. Dan Loomis presiding. A reception celebrating Ed’s life, love and friendship will be held immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.

PINE BLUFF — Rebecca Jane Sherman Watson went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2012. Born April 13, 1947 in Conneaut, Ohio, she was the daughter of E.T. “Pete” Sherman of Albion, Pa., and Nellie Samuel Page Sherman, originally of Pine Bluff, Ark. Beckie was a graduate of Northwestern High School (1965) in Albion, Pa., and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Ouachita on May 30, 1969, and the following day, June 1, 1969, married James Watson at the Elliott Baptist Church in Camden, Ark.

James and Beckie were blessed by the birth of a daughter, Heverin Joy, on Beckie’s birthday in 1977, and blessed a second time with the birth of a son, Jonathan Edward, on July 13, 1982. They were blessed many more times throughout their 43 years of marriage to include others as part of their extended family as well.

A celebration of Beckie’s life will be held at Greenlee Memorial Baptist Church, 4901 Old Warren Rd., Pine Bluff, Ark., at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012. A memorial service will be held later in Pennsylvania.

RUSSELLVILLE — Betty Henderson, age 77, of Russellville, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012. She was born July 13, 1935, to John E. and Laura Freeman Gray at South New Hope, Arkansas. She was a member of Russellville First Assembly of God and was a Russellville Ruritan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Gray; her husband, John Henderson; a sister, Laura Faye Hutcherson; and a brother, Rev. U.L. Gray. Survivors include her son, John Henderson, of Little Rock; a sister and brother-in-law, Glyndolene and Herman Satterfield of Russellville; and special nieces, Dolores Hunter of Russellville, Scharlotte Maxwell of Russellville, and Judy Tanner of North Little Rock.

STUTTGART — John Lewis Berryman, 83, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at his home. He was born August 16, 1929, in Monticello to John and Nora Berryman. He worked for Leo Smith Chevrolet for 43 years starting as a salesman and later became sales manager. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Leder.
