PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: Jordan Mayor For All Of Fayetteville

What’s not to love!

Lioneld Jordan, a mayor who:

  1. Loves this city, the citizens (all of us), the Razorbacks, FHS purple Dogs, the city employees (each one), the trails and green environmental elements, the arts, the Farmer’s Market, the school system (each child and teacher), and just the air he breathes in our beloved Fayetteville.

  2. Leads with integrity: You never have to wonderwhere our mayor stands on any issue. His word is totally good.

  3. Exhibits fiscal responsibility as evidenced in the past years as he has led this city through and out of fi nancial dift culties, both new and inherited.

  4. Treats City Council members with respect and conducts the business of the city without contention. He always treats the citizens who attend the council meetings with respect.

  5. He supports thebusiness community and eagerly welcomes newcomers into the city, always seeking how he can help them succeed. He enthusiastically promotes “buy Fayetteville.”

  6. Problems? You bet: Parking, speed bumps, TIF fiasco, digging out of previous bad decisions inherited, an ice storm and no previous preparedness procedures, a budget that was inherited and not in balance, parking garage.

Yep, plenty of problems.

But, in his usual manner he deals with each onehead on and moves forward, off ering no excuses, and taking no personal credit for success.

  1. He is the “clone” of the Energizer Bunny, appearing all over the city at any hour of the day, week, or month and always with a smile and a hug.

In short, why change?

Lioneld Jordan is the mayor for us, all of us (and) experience we can trust.
