Fishing this week

— HOT SPOTSARKANSAS RIVER (LITTLE ROCK POOL) Bream reports have been good in backwater areas with crickets. Bass fishing is good using chrome and blue Rat-L Traps on jetties and sandbar drops. Catfish are being caught on worms and cut bait fished in deeper holes.

ARKANSAS RIVER (MORRILTON) Bass reports have been good using Brush Hogs in 4-10 feet of water around timber. Kentucky bass are on jetties; try spinnerbaits fished 4-

10 feet deep. Bream are going crazy for crickets fished 4-10 feet deep around grass and rip-rap.

White bass are being caught around sandbarsusing Shad Raps. Try using shad or worms fished 5-15 feet deep on the fast-water side of jetties for catfish .

LAKE OUACHITA Largemouth bass are being caught

on top-waters and drop-shot rigs. Try fishing over main

lake and secondary points. Walleye fishing is fair. They are being caught on jigging spoons fished near humps and

main lake points with brush. Stripers are being caught with live

bait on main lake points. The east end of the lake is the most productive area. Bream are still being caught on crickets or worms 20-25 feet deep. Crappie fishing is fair with most being

caught near and over brush. Minnows or crappie grubs are working best. Catfish are being caught on trotlines set 20-30 feet deep using

cut bait and live bait.

LAKE SEQUOYAH Bream are being caught on worms. Crappie fishing is fair using minnows and jigs fished in 3-8 feet of water. Bass are being caught on spinners and crankbaits. Some big catfish are being caught on bluegills, goldfish, shad and minnows.

SPRING RIVER The river remains low and cooler weather has had the trout on the bite. Fishing has been extremely good on overcast days. Snails and Y2K Bugs have been the hot flies, with mayfly emergers being fished during hatches. Some really nice trout have been coming in upriver. Hot pink and darker Trout Magnets have been working really well.
