Cleanup Offers Lunch, Prizes

The annual Beaver Lake Cleanup will be held Saturday, with the post-cleanup lunch and festivities set for the Grand Shelter at Prairie Creek park.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers sponsors the event for volunteers to pick up litter along the Beaver Lake shoreline.

Trash bags are provided and volunteers may get them after 8 a.m. at Hickory Creek, Rocky Branch, Prairie Creek and Dam Site parks.

Lunch is served to all volunteers starting at 11:30 a.m. Prize giveaways follow the meal.

Pigeon Roost Site Of Hike

Lewis and Clark Outfitters will host a guided hike on Saturday at the Pigeon Roost Trail at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area.

The hike is 4 miles and the pace easy. Bring snacks and water. Meet at the Lewis and Clark Springdale Store at 7 a.m. or at the trailhead at 8 a.m.

Corps Hosts Disabled Veterans

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold its eighth annual Disabled Veterans Hunt on Dec. 13-14 at Dam Site Park on Beaver Lake.

Four hunters will be selectedto hunt deer at the 500-acre park. The deadline to apply is Nov. 10.

Lake Closes For Season

Prairie Grove Lake will close for the season at 6 p.m.

Sunday.

The lake will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Carry Hunter Education Card

Hunters are reminded that a hunter born after 1968 must carry a vaild hunter education carn, unless HE-VERIFIED, is noted on the hunting license.

Hunters under 16 do not need a card if they are under the direct supervision of an adult who is at least 21 and possesses hunter education certification and who was born after 1969.

Arkansas honors the homestate hunter education cards of nonresidents.

Hill ‘N Dale Group Hikes Leatherwood

The Hill ‘N Dale Hikers will host a 3-mile hike on Saturday at Lake Leatherwood City Park in Eureka Springs. Lunch will follow at Sparkey’s in Eureka Springs.

Meet at Harps in Bella Vista at 8 a.m. to carpool to the trail.
