A speech by British anthropologist Jane Goodall will be the headline event in the University of Arkansas Honors College 10th birthday celebration.
The free lecture, titled "Making a Difference: An Evening with Jane Goodall," will be 7 p.m. Oct. 5 at Barnhill Arena on the UA campus. The event is public, and no tickets are required.
The university said the event is co-sponsored by the Honors College and the student Distinguished Lecture Committee.
Goodall is internationally known for her studies of chimpanzee behavior, founded the Jane Goodall Institute and has been appointed a United Nations messenger of peace, UA said.
Goodall sailed to Africa in 1958 to pursue a lifelong dream of living with and writing about wild animals.
