Beebe: Conservative group ’trashing’ Arkansas

Posted: September 25, 2012 at 12:46 p.m.

— Gov. Mike Beebe says a conservative group is “trashing” Arkansas by airing a television ad that claims high taxes and government debt is driving people out of the state.

Beebe on Tuesday criticized the television spots being aired by Americans for Prosperity and accused the group of misleading voters on the state’s accomplishments. The Democratic governor said he thinks the ads are insulting the state more than his policies.

The 30-second television ad says that many are leaving the state to seek opportunities elsewhere because of a high cost of living. The spot doesn’t mention Beebe or any legislative candidates.

Americans for Prosperity's state director said the ad began airing over the weekend as part of a $175,000 buy in the 1st, 2nd and 4th congressional districts.

I chose to move to Arkansas. I have prospered abundantly. I love living in Arkansas...if someone is having trouble in Arkansas I suspect they will have trouble anywhere.

"Americans for Prosperity... airing a television ad that claims high taxes and government debt is driving people out of [Arkansas].">>

Thus providing example #492 that these Koch brother Tea Party dissemblers can't think or are just extraordinarily dishonest.

Note:

"Arkansas has the second-lowest state and local revenue per capita, according to the Tax Foundation."

When are sincere, old school, reality based conservatives going to get tired of having such a large portion of their political wing engage in wall to wall lying to everyone? There's no excuse for it, it's a disgrace.

"The Tax Policy Center last week released an analysis called “Historical Federal Income Tax Rates for a Family of Four.” It looked at the average income tax rate based on the median income for a family of four from 1955 through 2010.
The average income tax rate under Reagan in 1983 was 11.06 percent. Under Clinton in 1992, it was 9.18 percent. And under Obama in 2010, it was 4.68 percent.
The verdict: For most Americans, taxes were lowered through the stimulus package passed in 2009 and extended to 2010, and they were also lowered in the tax compromise between Obama and Republicans. Current rates are at historic lows compared with ones from 1955 — when the numbers started being tracked — through 2007." http://tinyurl.com/3fcn885

Ok,

So are "many are leaving the state to seek opportunities elsewhere because of a high cost of living"? And if so, what kind of impact is it having on the state?

You can't trust the facts from Teresa Oelke and the Koch Bros.

Many people have left Crossett, AR because of the Koch-owned industry there (Georgia Pacific) has polluted the dickens out of the place.

Arkansas had a net gain of population between the U.S. Census periods.
