BASEBALL

BASKETBALL

The Springdale Sonics will hold tryouts for players in grades 2-5. The fees are $50 for an annual membership and uniforms are $30-45 (if needed). Fees are only due if the player is selected. Tuesday — 2nd grade and 3rd grade girls at 6 p.m.; 4th grade and 5th grade girls at 6:30 p.m.

George, Harp, Lee, or Jones Elementary at JO Kelly Middle School:

Today — 2nd grade boys/girls at 6 p.m.; 3rd grade boys/girls at 6:30 p.m.; 4th grade boys/girls at 7 p.m.; 5th grade girls at 7:30 p.m.

BOWLING

Friday and Tuesday morning bowling leagues are now organizing at the Rogers Bowling Center. Must be age 55 or older. Call 855-1574.

GOLF

The 42nd Annual Men's Individual Invitational Golf Tournament is scheduled for Prairie Creek Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.  Practice rounds are available. The tournament will be divided into flights.  The entry fee is $95.  For more information on the tournament call Don Rountree at 925-2414.

The Camp Alliance Solders Scramble golf tournament will be held Oct. 12, at Lost Springs Golf and Athletic Club in Rogers. Teams will consist of three golfers from the local community and one military member. Military members play for free. Cost is $100 per non-military golfer. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. with a 1 p.m. shotgun start for the tournament. Entry fee covers lunch, a gift bag, range balls, cart, greens fees, and drinks. The tournament offers great prizes including a car for a hole-in-one. Proceeds from the tournament will go towards funding Camp Alliance projects to support military families in Northwest Arkansas. The Bella Vista 9-Hole Women's Golf Association End-of-Season Brunch will be at Riordan Hall on Oct. 29. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with brunch at 9:30. Deadline for reservations is Oct. 22. RUNNING

SOFTBALL

Girls 8U softball team now organizing and holding fall workouts for 2013 season. For girls born after Jan. 1, 2004. Team will play approximately five weekend tournaments in NWA from mid March to June. Call 462-4799 for more information.

TENNIS

The Bella Vista fall after-school instructional program will take place through Oct. 18 at the Kingsland Tennis Center. Sessions will be held from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost for the program is $120. For more information, contact Paul Pautsch at 855-8174.

VOLLEYBALL

Registration for the Rogers Community-School Recreation Association youth volleyball program is currently being taken at the Rogers Activity Center and online at www.rogersarkansas.com/recreation. Grades 4-5: Instructional Volleyball Class that is taught by experienced instructors. Class is open to boys and girls. Cost for registration is $40. Registration will be taken through Oct. 8 and the class begins Oct. 16. Grades 6 - 8: Middle school league open to girls. Teams will be formed based on the school players attend. Practices will start in September and games will start in October. Each team will practice once to twice per week and play a maximum of 10 games in the season. Cost for registration is $50.
