Woman Accused Of Stabbing Boyfriend

A Rogers woman was arrested for attempted murder in connection with an allegation that she stabbed her sleeping boyfriend.

Cynthia Shoeleh, 57, was booked at 10:53 p.m. Friday into the Benton County Jail. Rogers police arrested Shoeleh in connection with attempted murder in the first degree.

According to a news release from the Rogers Police Department, officers were called Friday to Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville for a stabbing that took place at 2605 West Olive St. No. 18.

Bobby Ray Smith, 56, of Rogers told officers that after an argument with Shoeleh, who is his girlfriend, he attempted to go to sleep and woke up to Shoeleh stabbing him in the arm with a kitchen knife.

Smith told officers Shoeleh attempted to stab him again and he grabbed her hand and took the knife from her. Shoeleh left the apartment.

Smith was treated and released from the hospital.

Detectives found Shoeleh in an adjacent apartment in the same complex. She was arrested on the attempted murder charge and taken to the county jail.

Smith was being held Saturday in jail with no bond set. She was awaiting a bond hearing.
