Storey on target again

— It was a different Storey this week for Charleston.

Sophomore quarterback Ty Storey threw for 445 yards and seven touchdowns Friday night as the Tigers defeated Danville 55-24 at Little John Field.

It was quite a turnaround for Storey and the Tigers (3-1, 1-0 4-3A). Ozark defeated Charleston 35-0 the previous week, when the Hillbillies tormented Storey all night long, sacking the quarterback five times and forcing him into three interception.

Storey rebounded Friday night in the conference opener against Danville (0-3, 0-1), completing 28 of 40 passes for 445 yards and seven touchdowns.

“It was a great football game,” Charleston Coach Doug Loughridge said. “Danville stayed in it and fought hard. I felt like our defense stepped up and made the stops that we had to have and our offense executed.”
