Fishing this week

— HOT SPOTSARKANSAS RIVER (MORRILTON) Bream fishing is great. Use crickets around rocks in 3-10 feet of water.

Catfishing is good using whole shad or skipjack fillets at 10-25 feet. Kentucky bass are being caught on Brush Hogs in green pumpkin off jetty tips in 15-18 feetof water. Largemouth bass are being caught early in the mornings with Glitterbugs in black and buzzbaits fished around timber 1-5 feet deep. White bass are schooling late.

LAKE CONWAY The lake is stained and a little low. Bream reports have been fair using worms and crickets. Crappie fishing is good. Tryminnows and Crappie Stingers by the Arkansas 89 bridge. Bass reports are fair. They are hitting spinners and plastic worms. Catfish reports areNORTHEAST & EAST-CENTRAL

excellent. Use yo-yos with worms, minnows, small bream or goldfish.

GREERS FERRY LAKE Hybrid and white bass are on a tear

all over the lake and can be caught with a lot of baits. Bass fishing is good, with fish being caught as deep as 40 feet. The bream bite is good using crickets, small crankbaits, top-waterflies and night crawlers. Catfish are being caught pretty good on trotlines baited with a lot of different baits. Crappie are in 12-15

feet of water and are being caught on minnows and jigs. Walleye are getting better on the tips of small chunk-rock flats.

SPRING RIVER Cool weather has been really good for the fishing. Bug

hatches have been heavy and the trout have been biting well. Snail fly and

mayfly emergers have been the best flies this week.

LAKE OUACHITA Largemouth bass are being caught on topwaters and dropshot rigs. Try fishing over main lake and secondary points. Walleye fishing is fair, and they are being caught on jigging spoons near humps and main lake points with brush. Stripers are being caught with live bait. Bream fishing is fair with most being caught on crickets or worms 20-25 feet deep. Crappie are being caught near and over brush. Catfish are being caught on cut bait and live bait on juglines and trotlines set 20-30 feet deep.
