Overhaul of lottery student aid aired

Scholarships start lower, then grow

A state lawmaker proposed Tuesday overhauling the state lottery’s Academic Challenge Scholarship program and awarding scholarships in amounts based on the number of credit hours that students successfully complete. His aim is to eliminate projected shortfalls in the program during the next four years.
