U.S. News and World Report's Best Colleges ranked the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Colleges of Business among the country's best business programs for 2013.

UA was ranked 26th in the best undergraduate business programs among public colleges for 2013, tying with seven other schools, the university said.

The Sam M. Walton College of Business at UA was tied for 47th in the top public and private undergraduate business schools.

Jane Wayland, the Stephen Harrow Smith dean of the UALR College of Business, said the school was ranked 141 for 2013. The college ranked 154 in 2012 and ranked 184 in 2011.

"Getting the word out was the major thing," Wayland said. "We have excellent programs, and we always have."

Wayland said the college sends out newsletters and announcements to spread the word about the program.

The UALR College of Business moved up 13 places from 2012, according to a UALR news release.

U.S. News and World Report reviews more than 1,400 colleges, and only 386 receive national rankings on the list of top business programs, UALR said.
