An Educator Needed In State Senate

Posted: September 16, 2012 at 3:44 a.m.

I worked on several campaigns while in college and after graduation, but quickly grew tired of the partisanship and pettiness of perpetual campaigning. I put politics behind me while a public school teacher for the last six years. That all changed when I met Diana Gonzales Worthen last year.

June Whinnery.: strong in her opinions, weak in general knowledge and critical thinking..
"He does like to go into the back room and pass things that hurt the general public."
Now it seems Obama is not only the President but also a member of Congress.
Poor woman.
I hope she doesn't vote.

Coralie--

Given the third-grade tone of both the insults and the fabulation in Ms. Whinnery's letter, one might hope that it will be some years before she is eligible to vote. Unfortunately, it is not apparent from her letter that she will be able to learn much by then At best, then, she appears to be a disaster delayed but not averted.

Third grade insults and fabulation? It appears that Coralie and Acey have been reading their own posts again since that is their default position whenever they are near a computer.

No thinking person who has seen the actions and policies of this administration over the past four years can claim that he has been anything less than a failure as president. No thinking person who has observed this president can say that he is out for anybody but himself. No president who cares about the country would push the policies that he has, and no individual who cares about the country would support him. That perfectly explains folks like Coralie and Acey, who could care less if their children or neighbors suffer as long as they can profit from it.

By the way, Acey, the fact that the letter writer voted for Obama in 2008 would indicate that she is at least eligible to vote. Maybe you should have stayed awake during that civics class, n'est pas?

Meanwhile, one can only laugh at the reason given by the supporter of Ms. Worthen for the state senate. When one notes the behavior of some of the educators in places like Chicago and Wisconsin, as well as some of those we have seen around these parts, having an educator in the state senate might not be the best solution. At best, her resume is a thin one devoted to pandering and pontificating...we have too many of that type of legislator in Little Rock already.

Not necessarily. It might be an example of the rampant "voter fraud" that Republicans are pretending is the motivation for their efforts at suppressing legitimate votes across this great land.

Thanks for beta-testing another set of Kermit's talking points. Of course, they'll be just as false when he repeats them as when you posted them.

.
Then Irish-minstrel would have no problem recalling Senator Johnny Key(R) from Mt Home who runs a private school which receives hundreds of thousands in federal-state aid. Key is an educator. Likewise for Justin Harris (R) of West Fork who runs a private school and rakes in hundreds of thousands in state-federal aid each year.
.
Nice thing about those two educators, Key and Harris, is they get to vote on how much money is appropriated to them each year.

Who is the Kermit to whom you refer, AlphaCat? He's not that cheerful green amphibian is he?
***
Irish says "Coralie and Acey...could care less if their children or neighbors suffer as long as they can profit from it."
I must be missing something--please tell me how I can profit from a high rate of unemployment , or the ever-increasing unequal distribution of income, or fraud in high finance?
I could use another million or two in my portfolio.

Kermit is the first name of a radio station owner in Benton County. His name is Kermit Womack and he's father of Congressman Steve Womack. He also owns a radio station in Russellville, AR which is also in Womack's Third Congressional District. Kermit is a part time farmer with a cattle farm somewhere in Benton County.
.
Congressman is the best paying job Steve Womack has ever held. Drawing a government paycheck with all the lucrative benefits is the road to success for Tea Party Republicans. You can see why they have so many candidates in their primary elections.
