Arkansas junior Zach Hocker missed a 41-yard field-goal attempt when the ball hit the left upright after a high snap in rainy conditions.

1st Quarter ALABAMA 7, ARKANSAS 0 Both teams went three-and-out on their first possessions. Arkansas was at its 43 and in punt formation, but Will Coleman’s snap sailed over Dylan Breeding’s head and Alabama got it at the 6. Eddie Lacy ran it in on the next play for the touchdown. Arkansas drove 55 yards with the help of a key third-down pickup and a couple of Tide penalties, but fizzled with a lost-yardage play.
