Man Accused Of Raping Teen

— A Farmington man faces felony charges after police said he raped a girl, beginning when she was 10 years old until she was 16.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jason Shaw, 36, of 421 S. Hunter St. in connection with rape.

According to an arrest affidavit, Shaw raped the girl for four years when he lived in Scappoose, Ore. He moved to Arkansas and continued to rape her until she was 16. The girl now lives in another state with her aunt, police said.

When confronted by the aunt, Shaw reportedly confessed to having sex with the girl and admitted he was in love with her.

Investigators examined the girl’s Facebook page and found a message from Shaw containing a poem, according to the report.

The girl told police Shaw forced her to consume alcohol and raped her numerous times since she was 10, according to police.

He threatened to kill himself if she didn’t cooperate, according to the report.

Shaw was arrested on a warrant Thursday and is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
